Our journey begins at the Castle of Otranto, from where we head toward the harbour and follow the scenic coastline to reach the Snake’s Tower — an ancient watchtower overlooking the sea.
From here, we join a stunning coastal trail that leads to the Punta Palascìa Lighthouse, the easternmost point of Italy and the meeting line between the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Along the way, we pass the beautiful Orte Bay, known for its crystal-clear, unspoiled waters and quiet, natural setting and the Bauxite Lake, a surreal landscape of red earth and emerald water.
The half-day hike takes a shortcut from the Orte Bay to Bauxite Lake.
